     William Tilghman was born circa 1475 in Snodland, Kent, England.2 He was the son of Thomas Tilghman and Joane Newman.1 William Tilghman married Isabel Avery circa 1490 in Kent.1,2 William Tilghman married Joan Amherst after 1495.2 William Tilghman died on 27 August 1541.1 He left a will that was proved on 22 November 1541.2 "A brass in Snodland Church bears the following inscription: Pray for the Soules of William Tilghman the elder, and Isabell and Joan his wives, which William decessyd the xxvii day of August, Anno Domini mcccccxli, on whos Soules Jesu have mercy. As you are so was I, and as I am so shalt you be."2

Adams.1 John Adams "John Adams was named in the Muster Roll for the Tithing of Barton, Somersetshre in 1539. He was classed among the able bylmen fyndyng harnys (that is, equipments of that rank), and he is credited with supplying a bowe." in 1539.1 He died circa 1542; "The name of Robert Adamps and Alys Adams, widow, appear on the subsidy rolls for Somerset Shire in 1542 and 1543 but no John Adams" Alice is assumed the wife of John Adams.2

Reynolds, on 11 August 1567.5 William Tilghman married Susan Whentenhall, daughter of Thomas Whentenhall Esq. and Dorothy Fane, in 1574 in England.2,5 William Tilghman also married Joan Amias, daughter of Andrew Amias, in Snodland.4 William died on 24 February 1593.1 William Tilghman was buried on 24 February 1593/94 at Snodland.3 He will was proved on 24 April 1594.4 He William Tilghman "Of Holloway Court" recorded his pedigree at the Visitation of Kent in 1574.2

     Rev. William Squire was born circa 1520.1 He "William Squire was rector of Charlton Mackrell, Somersetshire, as early as 1545, as appears by the will of Rev. George Levermore, vicar of Charlton Adam, dated 21 Sept. 1545, proved 11 Dec. 1545,which left certain goods to 'William Squyre, parson of Charleton Macarell.' (Wells Probate Registry,vol.12,p.104.) During the reign of 'Blody Mary' (1553-1558) a list was made of all the married clergy in England, and they were ordered to divorce their wives to conform to the Roman Catholic law of clerical celibacy. At the annual eccleasiastical visitation of Charlton Mackress in 1554, the church wardens presented that 'William Squyer was marryed and doth mynister ageyne, not separated.'" on 11 September 1545.2 He died circa 1567 at Charlton Mackrell, Somersetshire, England; "On 15 Sept. 1567, John Sprynt was inducted to the rectory of Charlton Mackrell, 'made vacant by the death of the last incumbent.3'"
