     Samuel represented the Matagorda Municipality in the Convention of 1836 at Washington-on-the-Brozos where he signed the Texas Declaration of Indepandence. Sam Huston nominated Fisher as Secretary of the Texas Navy. His appointment was confirmed by the Texas Senate on October 28, 1836. He was suspended from office in October 1837 to secure "hamony and efficiency" but was reinstated on October 18, 1837.1,2 Samuel Rhoads Fisher was born on 31 December 1794 at Pennsylvania.2 He married Ann Pleasants, daughter of Israel Pleasants, before 1819 at Pennsylvania.2 Samuel Rhoads Fisher died on 14 March 1839 at Natagorda, Texas, at age 44.2

"Fanny" can not have been Mary Frances Beagle(s) for she is only 55 years of age in 1850. The gap in Ezekiel's childrens suggest that Mary Frances died before 1817 and that he married a Fanny in Kentucky after his move there.2

     Richard Harrison was born circa 1795 at Thorney, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He married Mary Taylor on 12 August 1822 at Thorney, Cambridgeshire, England; Boyd's Marriage indexes indicates that Richard married Mary Brown on the same date!2 Richard Harrison married secondly, Margaret Tayler after 1826 at Cambridgeshire, England. Based on Mary's burial and Richard's birth.1 Richard Harrison and Margaret Tayler appeared on the census of 6 June 1841 in Thorney, Cambridgeshire, England.3 Richard Harrison and Margaret Tayler appeared on the census of 30 March 1851 in Thorney, Cambridgeshire, England.1 Richard Harrison probably died between 1 April 1859 and 30 June 1859 at Cambridgeshire, England.4 Based on Margarat's marriage to George Miner and Betsey's Harrison's listing as George and Margaret Miners daughter indicate that he certainly he died before 7 April 1861.5

     Jacob Hicks Burtis was born in 1795 at New York.1,2 He married Elizabeth Arabella Carman, daughter of Silas Carman and Abigail Fleet, on 5 February 1821 at Nassau County, New York.3 Jacob Hicks Burtis married Mary A. Weeks after 1832.3 Jacob Hicks Burtis Was included in "The Hudson Colony" as part of the Illinois Land Association. According to the Historical encyclopedia of Illinois The Villiage of Hudson was laid out with "Each member of the colony paid $235 for which he was to have 160 acres of land, four town lots in the village and a share in the net profits of the enterprise. They ware also promised twenty acres of timber." Jacob Burtis wis included in the list. on 4 July 1836.4 He and Mary A. Weeks appeared on the census of 3 October 1850 in Money Creek, McLean County, Illinois.5 Jacob and Mary Burtis appeared on the census of 24 July 1860 in Hudson, McLean County, Illinois.6 Jacob Hicks Burtis and Mary A. Weeks appeared on the census of 6 August 1870 in Hudson.2 Jacob died on 16 June 1873 at McLean County, Illinois; Incription on the Head Stone in the Hudson Cemetery: CAPTAIN WAR OF 1812.1

     Sarah Ransdell Ball was born on 4 October 1796 at New Baltimore, Fauquier County, Virginia.1 She was the daughter of William Ball and Mary Rensdell.1 Sarah Ransdell Ball died on 15 February 1849 at age 52.1

     Susan Matilda Tillinghast was born on 10 November 1796 at South Carolina.1 She married Hugh Archer.1 Susan Matilda Tillinghast and Hugh Archer appeared on the census of October 1850 in 8th Division, Leon County, Florida.2 Susan was included in the census of her son and daughter-in-law, Hugh and Mary Archer on 21 July 1860 at Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida.3 Susan Matilda Tillinghast died on 16 May 1865 at Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida, at age 68.1
