Slaughter.1 He was born on 2 November 1843 at Rappahannock County, Virignia.1,3 He was the son of Philip Slaughter and Ann Mercer Slaughter.1 Thomas Towels Slaughter married Sophia Mercer "Mary" Slaughter, daughter of Rev Philip Clayton Slaughter and Anna Sophia Semmes, on 31 January 1866 at Rappahannock County, Virginia.4 Thomas Towels Slaughter and Sophia Mercer "Mary" Slaughter appeared on the census of 5 August 1870 in Salem, Culpeper County, Virginia.5 Thomas and Sophia appeared on the census of 7 June 1880 in Cedar Mountain, Virginia.6 Tom and Sophie appeared on the census of 20 June 1900 in Cedar Mountain, Virginia; This census included two maiden cousins, Annie S. (35) and Eliza K. (37).7 Thomas Towels Slaughter and Sophia Mercer "Mary" Slaughter appeared on the census of 2 May 1910 in Cedar Mountain, Virginia; This census included two cousins, Annie S. (60) and Eliza K.(55) Nelson.8 Thomas Towels Slaughter died on 8 March 1934 at Virginia at age 90.3 He appears to have had no children.      Creed Fulton Flanary was born on 25 November 1843 at Virginia.1,2 He was the son of Elkanah Flanary and Nancy Young.1 Creed Fulton Flanary was included in the census of parents, Elkanah Flanary and Nancy Young, on 22 January 1850 at Lee County, Virginia; This census included Nancy Wilson, age 67 and Rachel Wilson, age 80 (Nancy's mother and grandmother?)1 Creed Fulton Flanary was included in the census of Elkanah Flanary on 16 August 1860 at Jonesville P.O., Lee County, Virginia.3 Creed Fulton Flanary began Confederate military service on 16 September 1861 at Lee County, Virginia. He enlisted in Company A, Virginia 21st Infantry Battalion as a 3rd Corpl.. He mustered out on 1 dec 1862 effectively transferring to Company G, Virginia 64th Infantry Regiment. He was promoted to Full 1st Sergeant on 15 Dec 1863.2 He married Sarah V. (A) (E) Litton, daughter of Dixin S.      John William Armstrong was born on 21 December 1843 at Woodville, Culpeper County, Virginia.1,2,3 He was the son of William Cleminson Armstrong and Sarah Catherine Slaughter.1 John William Armstrong was recorded in the household during the census of William Cleminson Armstrong and Sarah Catherine Slaughter on 16 September 1850 at Rappahannock County, Virginia.4 John was also included in the census of his parents on 12 January 1860 at Woodville, Rappahannock County, Virginia.5 At 17 years of age, John began military service on 8 May 1861 at Virginia; He volunteered for Company B, 6th Regiment Virginia Cavalry, Confederate States Army.6 John William Armstrong ended military service after 1 April 1865 at Virginia; “Union Records show that he was captured at Five Forks, April 1, 1865, and arrived at City Point, Virginia, April 5, 1865, no record of his release has been found, but his name appears among those, who assumed a name for the purpose of being transferred, exchanged or released. No later record has been found."6 He married Annette "Nannette" L. Pleasants Fisher, daughter of Samuel William Fisher and Eliza Ophelia Smith, on 21 January 1885 at Austin, Travis County, Texas.7,8 Nettie and John appeared on the census of 7 June 1900 in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas.9 John and Annette also appeared on the census of 20 April 1910 in San Antonio.10 He died on 17 August 1911 at 329 Poplar Street, San Antonio, Texas, at age 67; John F. Armstrong's passport listed his father as dead. John William's Obituary: "JOHN W. ARMSTRONG DIES" - He was Native of Virginia, A Confererate Veteran and resident of Texas 25 years" - "John W. Armsrong, 67 years old, died Thursday afternoon at 5 o"clock at his home - He is survived by his widow, three sons and a daughter, one son being in Mexico, a brother in Texas and two brothers and a sister in Virginia. - He was a right of way agent for the Frisco Railroad.      James Evans was born in March 1844 at Arkansas.1,2 He was the son of James Evans and Sarah Mankins.1 James Evans was included in the census of Samuel Hannah and Sarah Mankins on 6 November 1850 at White River, Washing County, Arkansas.1 James Evans was included in the census of Sarah Mankins on 31 August 1860 at White River, Washington County, Arkansas; Census includes Martha Hannah, age 2. Probably not Sarah's.3 James Evans married Mary J. Rieff circa 1869 at Arkansas.4 He and Mary J. Rieff appeared on the census of 2 August 1870 in Highland P.O., Collin County, Texas.5 James and Mary J. Evans appeared on the census of 12 June 1880 in White River, Washington County, Arkansas.6 James Evans appeared on the census of 8 June 1900 in White River, Washington County, Arkansas; James indicates that he was married 28 years.2
