From an Obituary posted at Faind-A-Grave: "Severely injured when wood he was hauling fell upon him, George Amon, 75, 105 Barrett street, died at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in Pawating hospital. Mr. Amon, who was a carpenter by trade, was born in Reading, Pa., on Jan. 11, 1859.Besides his wife, Alice, the deceased is survived by five daughters, Mrs. George Radewald, Niles; Mrs. Alice Lackey, Buchanan, and Ms. Elmer Weltzgirn, Niles; three sons, William Amon, Elkhart Ind; Roy Amon, Niles, and Fred Amon, Detroit; three brothers, Wilson and Harry Amon, Niles, and Albert Amon, living in California; a sister, Mrs. Martin Wenzel, Niles, and 24 grandchildren".1

     Alexander Evans "Pike" Steele was also known as "Pike".2 He was born on 27 January 1859 at Jackson County, Missouri.3 He was the son of Griffith Dickerson "Dick" Steele and Mary Evans.1 "Pike" was included with his father, Griffith Dickerson Steels, in the census of his grandparents, Alexander Pleasant Steele and Sarah B. Dickerson, on 17 July 1860 at Sni a bar, Jackson County.1 He was included in the census of father and step-mother, Griffith Dickerson "Dick" Steele and Eliza Jane Smith, on 1 August 1870 at Cañon City, Fremont County, Colorado.4 Pike was also included in the census of Griffith and Eliza Steele on 3 June 1880 at Weston, Oregon.5 He married Jeannette Grant Barber, daughter of Thomas Young Barber and Louisa "Susan" Young, on 5 May 1884 at Walla Walla County, Washington.6,7,8 Between 1893 and 1897, Pike and Jeannette migrated to at Trail, British Columbia, Canada.9 Alexander Evans "Pike" Steele and Jeannette Grant Barber appeared on the census of 27 April 1901 in Trail City, Rassland Riding, Yale and Cariboo, British Columbia, Canada.10 Jeannette and "Pike" appeared on the census of 1911 at 473 Gone, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.11 Alexander Evans "Pike" Steele Alexander made a passport application to travel with his wife, Jenette G. to leave form the port of New Orleans aboard the United Fruit Line on December 15, 1919 to Cuba on Merchantile Business. In an affidavit he swor "that he was a native of Jackson County, in the State of Missouri, and that he was born in said County of Jacskson on the 27th day of January, A.D. 1859; that he was born on a farm about twenty miles from the City of Indepaenence, the County Seat of said Jackson County, and that according to his best information and belief no record has ever been kept, and is therefore obtainable of his said birth; -- that affiant is married, having been married to Jenette Barber in the year 1884, in the City of Walla Walla, State of Washinton ; that three sons were born of said marriage, all of whom are majors and all of whom have served in the Army of the United States during the past war:" on 24 November 1919 at Los Angeles, California.12 They were recorded on the census of 21 February 1920 in San Diego, San Diego County, California.13 He and Jeannette Grant Barber were found on a passenger list on 20 June 1920 at New Orleans, Louisiana. Arrriving from Havana, Cuba aboard the S.S. Hermdia.14 They had moved to Los Angeles by the census of 19 April 1930 in Los Angeles, California.6 They also appeared on the census of 6 April 1940 in Los Angeles.15 Alexander Evans "Pike" Steele died on 14 March 1951 at 1927 Bradshaw Avenue, Monterey Park, Los Angeles County, California, at age 92.3 He Alexanders passport papers in 1919 indicate that there were only 3 sons born to his marriage to Jeannette. Was he only reffering to his U.S. born son's? Son Mark Twain Steele was born in British Columbia, Canada. Since they have never been found together, it is also possible that Thomas and Eugene are the same person!12

Grimm and Elizabeth Ann Ishmael, on 12 October 1882 at Grant County, Wisconsin.1,4,5 Frank Leslie Duncan and Henrietta Grimm appeared on the census of 1 June 1900 in Cassville, Grant County, Wisconsin.4 Frank Leslie Duncan married Elizabeth Belle Heaney on 8 August 1905 at Menominee, Menominee County, Michigan. Franks parents were listed as John C. Duncan and Fannie M. Clemens.
