On June 9, 1944, Jasper married Alice Clements in Massachusetts. They settled in Wenatchee, where their two daughters, Donna and Karen, were born. Locky completed his Bachelors' Degree in Engineering at Washington State College in Pullman in 1951. His first job was for the State of Washington Highway Department. He retired from that job in 1977. He spent two years in retirement, during which time he and Alice traveled around the United States in their motor home, stopping to see whatever they wanted and visiting friends and relatives. He became Alice's caregiver during her battle with cancer. Alice died in 1979. Since Jasper knew he had far more energy and time to just be retired, he explored part-time employment. He began working at the Wenatchee Swim and Tennis Club in 1980, and was still employed at the WRAC at the time of his death. On December 31, 1980, he took a fine woman to a dance. LaVona Dexter Younker became the second love of his life and they were married on June 13, 1981. They enjoyed 26 1/2 years together. Locky is survived by his wife, LaVona; daughters, Donna (Gary) Burr of Ridgefield, WA and Karen (Mike) Waterbury of Santa Clara, CA; his sister, Edna (Dave) Olling of Shoreline, WA; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many members of LaVona's family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Don Lockridge and Jerry Lockridge; his first wife, Alice; and his stepchildren, Gary Younker and Theresa Carter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2008, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to St. Joseph's Parish building fund. Orville was engaged in 50 combat missions in the Mediterranean Theatre during World War II as a flight engineer and top turret gunner on a B-17 aircraft. He was awarded numerous medals, including the Distinguished Flying Cross.²

     Robert William Eglington "Uncle Bob" as he was known in the family, was veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Air Corps from his inlistment date of 14 Sep 1942 until the end of the War. He was an elictrical engineer at the NASA Ames Research Center Wind Tunnels located at Moffett Field, Mountain View, Santa Clara County, California.^2,3 He was born on 19 July 1922 at Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California.¹ He was the son of Earle Frost Eglington and Olive Marjory Lake.¹ Robert William Eglington was listed in the census of his parents, Earle Frost Eglington and Olive Marjory Lake, on 4 April 1930 at Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada.⁴ Bob was also included in the census of his parents on 15 April 1940 at Redwood, Santa Clara County, California.⁵ Robert William Eglington Bob served in the U.S. Army between 14 September 1942 and 1 January 1946.⁶ He married Janet Margaret Burke, daughter of Harry Eugene Burke Sr. and Marion Josephine Armstrong, on 30 June 1947 at Los Gatos Methodest Church, Los Gatos, Santa Clara County, California. Steele married Rose Lila Elstine in July 1952 at Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada.^6,7 Frederic W. Steele died on 18 February 1988 at Buena Park, Orange County, California, at age 65; Posted at Find-A-Grave: "Fred Steele was born on August 7, 1922 in Los Angeles, California to Glenn Steele and Mabel Rains. Sister Maeotta was born in 1925, followed by Nadine in 1929. Tragedy struck the family in September 1930 when Mabel was murdered by a family member. Fred and Maeotta went with their father to live in Washington, while Nadine went to live with family members in Sparks, Nevada. In October 1930, Fred and Maeotta were uprooted again as their father had remarried and the new wife did not want them. They were sent to live with various family members and by the next year were permanently residing with their Aunt Edith and Uncle Chester, who had taken Nadine in. At age 17, Fred was living with the Family in Oregon when he left due to unknown reasons. From 1942-1945 he served in the Army, as a tank driver and won a good conduct medal for the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign. In 1952, Fred married Rose Smego and had one son; Glenn. Father and son shared a great love of trains and to Fred's delight, Glenn was hired on the Santa Fe Railway in the 1970s. After retiring from Safeway Stores after almost 30 years of service, Fred enjoyed spending his time on road trips (particularly chasing his son Glenn's train on a long haul) and visiting with his three grandchildren. Sadly, in 1988; Glenn lost the father he fondly called "Pop". A great loss to the Steele family, but especially Glenn; who was very close with his father. They were reunited once again on March 3, 2015 when Glenn died from traumatic injuries sustained during the Metrolink Oxnard Crash".⁶

     Chester Le Roy Plummer was born before September 1922 at California.¹ He was the son of Amos Spencer Plummer and Edna Josephine Farrell.¹ Chester Le Roy Plummer died in September 1926 at Yuba City, California; From an Obituary dated Sept. 26, 1926, "Chester Le Roy Plummer, age 4 years, died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.      Margie Lou Walker was born on 23 January 1923 at Greenville, Hunt County, Texas.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel William Vestus Walker and Mary Ellen Basinger.¹ Margie Lou Walker was included during the census of her parents, Samuel William Vestus Walker and Mary Ellen Basinger, on 8 April 1930 at Granville City, Hunt County, Texas.² Margie Lou Walker married Olan Grant Steele, son of Clyde Emmett Steele and Stella Mae Smith, on 19 January 1946 at Hunt County, Texas.^1,3 Margie Lou Walker died on 26 December 2004 at Greenville, Hunt County, Texas, at age 81.¹

     Josephine Frances Mcgill was born on 2 February 1923 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.¹ She married Herbert Newt "Blackie" Armstrong, son of Newt Herbert Armstrong and Margaret Dunford, on 14 April 1945 at Los Angeles County, California.¹ Josephine Frances Mcgill died on 10 April 2003 at Saint Petersburg, Pinellas County, Florada, at age 80.¹

     Bernard R. Washburn was born on 6 February 1923 at Hornick, Iowa.¹ He was the son of Jessie Washburn and Elsie McKnight.² Bernard R. Washburn was included in the census of his parents, Jessie Washburn and Elsie McKnight, on 16 April 1940 at Grange, Woodbury County, Iowa.³ Bernard R.      Agnes Rogers Bouldin was born on 28 February 1923 at Keith, Boone County, West Virginia.¹ She was the daughter of William Old Bouldin and Agnes Rogers Lackey.¹ Agnes Rogers Bouldin married David Fred Steele Sr, son of David Fred Steele and Laura Russie Wood, before 1942.¹ Agnes Rogers Bouldin died on 30 October 2007 at Albemarle, Stanly County, North Carolina, at age 84; From the Tampa Tribune obituary: "STEELE, Agnes Rogers Bouldin, 84, of Albemarle, N.C.", - "passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at Stanly Regional Medical Center. She was born February 28, 1923, in Boone County, W.Va". - "She is survived by her son, David F. Steele and wife, Lois, of Albemarle, N.C; grandchildren, David F. Steele III and wife, Shannon, of Lakeland, Fla., Dr. Daniel J. Steele and wife, Holley, and their children, D.J., Will and Elizabeth of Birmingham, Ala., Sharon Elizabeth Davis and husband, Ben, and their children, Emma and John of Albemarle,N.C., Rebecca Joy Aldridge and husband, Roger, of their children, Ian and Caitlyn of Monroe, N.C. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Fred Steele Sr., deceased 1982; father, William Old Bouldin; and mother, Agnes Rogers Lackey Bouldin".^1,2

     Nancy Tyson Lee Scott was born before 5 May 1923 at Maryland.¹ She married Alfred Patterson Pendleton Jr., son of Alfred Patterson Pendleton and Marjorie Armstrong, in 1948 at Towson, Maryland.¹ Nancy Tyson Lee Scott died on 26 April 2007 at Maryland.¹

     Betty June Farrell is the daughter of Edward Patrick Farrell and Eliza Laura "Gram" Steele.

     Herbert Newt "Blackie" Armstrong was born on 16 June 1923 at Elbert, West Virginia.¹ He was the son of Newt Herbert Armstrong and Margaret Dunford.¹ Herbert was recorded in the census of his parents, Newt Herbert Armstrong, on 5 April 1930 at Triadelphia, Logan County, West Virginia.³ Herbert Newt "Blackie" Armstrong married Josephine Frances Mcgill on 14 April 1945 at Los Angeles County, California.² Herbert Newt "Blackie" Armstrong died on 24 October 1988 at DeKalb County, Georgia, at age 65.^1,4

     Leota Lucille "Polly" Packard was born on 16 June 1923 at Plainview, Texas.¹ She married Denson Griffin, son of Thomas Adrian Griffin and Marilla/Mary Ella "Rillia Ann" Donaldson, after 14 April 1940 at Texas.¹ Leota Lucille "Polly" Packard died on 27 October 1997 at Tye, Taylor County, Texas, at age 74.¹

     Margaret A. Jones was born on 16 July 1923 at Wichita, Kansas.^1,2 She was the daughter of Jean Paul Jones and Mona Lee Willis.¹ Margaret A. Jones was recorded in the census of Mona Lee Willis and Jean Paul Jones on 8 April 1930 at Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas.¹ Margaret was also included in the census of her parents on 15 April 1940 at Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas.³ Margaret A. Lydick, before 1946.¹ Gearldine died on 30 January 2003 at Humboldt County, California, at age 79.⁵

     Bernice Ione Blase was born on 12 September 1923 at South Dakota.^1,2 She was the daughter of Frank R. Blase and Clara Unzelman.¹ Bernice Ione Blase was included in the census of Frank R.      Muriel Virginia Swanson was born on 23 October 1923 at Kansas City, Jackson County.¹ She was the daughter of Arthur Malcomb Swanson and Allie Catherine Hulse.¹ Muriel Virginia Swanson was included during the census of her parents, Arthur Malcomb Swanson and Allie Catherine Hulse, on 16 April 1930 at Kansas City, Missouri.² Muriel Virginia Swanson was included during the census of her parents, Arthur Malcomb Swanson and Allie Catherine Hulse, on 8 April 1940 at Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri.³ Muriel Virginia Swanson married Philip Perry Oldberg Jr, son of Philip Oldberg and Effie M Peterson, in 1946.^1,4 Muriel Virginia Swanson died on 14 March 2018 at Jackson County, Missouri, at age 94; From an obituray posted at Find-A-Grave: "Her survivors include the six children—Carl (Judy) Oldberg of Cary, Illinois; Mark (Linda) Oldberg of Overland Park; Pamela Taylor of Prairie Village, Kansas; Karen (Doyle) Oldberg of Kansas City; Eric Oldberg of Kansas City, and David Oldberg of Shawnee Mission, Kansas.      Roland Manroe Riddle was born on 31 October 1923.^1,2 He died on 4 October 1976 at Lee County, North Caroline, at age 52.²

     Merle Melvin Pratt was born on 20 November 1923 at Michigan.^1,2 He was the son of Ralph Otis Pratt and Nina Bell Goodrich.¹ Merle was recorded in the census of hsi apratne, Ralph Otis Pratt and Nina Bell Goodrich, on 10 April 1930 at Egelston, Muskegon County, Michigan.¹ He was also included in the census of his parents on 2 May 1940 at Egelston, Michigan.⁴ Merle Melvin Pratt died on 15 January 1994 at Fremont, Newaygo County, Michigan, at age 70; From Merle's obituary: "born Merle Melvin Pratt on Nov. 20, 1923 in Muskegon, the sone of Nina Bell Goodrich and Ralph Otis Pratt. He married Bertha J. Hathaway on June 17, 1947 in Muskegon"; "survived by his wife Bertha J. Pratt of Grant; Two sons, Tim and Tracey Pratt of Newaygo, and Tom and Theresa Pratt of Grant; four grandchildren, Amanda and Christine Pratt of Newaygo and Thomas and Todd Pratt of Grant; three brothers, Jesse and Lester Pratt of Muskegon and Geral Pratt of California; and severa nieces and nephews".^2,3 The inscription on his marker indicated that he served as an S1 in the U.S. Navy during WWII.⁵

     Howard Vernon Briley was also known as Vern Briley. He was born on 9 December 1923 at Inglewood, Los Angeles County, California; Poto copy of Certificate on line, Joanne's Family Tree at Ancestry.com.^3,4 He was the son of Howard Briley and Louise Marie Verges.^1,2 Howard was listed in the census of Mirth Adelia Palmer and Fredrick "Fred" Allen Behrens on 15 April 1930 at Sacramento, California.⁵ Vern was also included in the census of Fred and Mirth on 11 April 1940 at Sacramento, California.⁶ Howard Vernon Briley married Joyce Ruth Reynolds, daughter of Burwell Wilson "Sarge" Reynolds and Rosita Anne Farrell, on 31 January 1949 at Truckee, Nevada County, California.⁷ Howard Vernon Briley and Joyce Ruth Reynolds appeared on the 1939 Register of 15 April 1950 in Sacramento, Sacramento County, California.⁸ He died on 18 December 1997 at San Joaquin County, California, at age 74.¹ Howard "Vern" was adopted by Fred Behrens and Mirth Palmer.

     Clifton White Pipkin Jr. was born on 12 December 1923 at Harnett County, North Carolina.¹ He was the son of Clifton White Pipkin and Anna Mae Withers.¹ Clifton White Pipkin Jr. was included in the census of Anna Mae Withers on 16 April 1930 at Upper Little River, Harnett County, North Carolina; This census included a foster son Thomas Rossie, age 5/12.² Clifton White Pipkin Jr. died on 29 August 1998 at Sanford, Lee County, North Carolina, at age 74.³

     Denis Pratt was born on 13 December 1923 at Lockwood, Saskatchewan, Canada.¹ He was the son of Arnold Pratt and Gladys May Allen.¹ Denis Pratt married Yvette (?) at Canada.^2,1 Denis Pratt died on 22 January 2007 at Calgary, Alberta, Canada, at age 83; From an Obituary published in the Calgary Herald and posted on Find-A-Grave: "Denis was born on the family farm in Lockwood, Saskatchewan on December 13, 1923 to Gladys and Arnold Pratt. He learned at a young age, the struggle of surviving the Saskatchewan prairie droughts of the 1930's. Losing his mother at the age of thirteen, he took over running the farm at sixteen years old, when his father returned to Britain to enlist during World War II."; "Denis is predeceased by his wife of forty-six years, Yvette, and by his son, Donald. Wienk and Florence R (?)² Martin Wienk died on 18 June 2004 at Frot Adkinson, Jefferson County, Wisconsin; From an obituary publishted in the Rockford Register Star - "PECATONICA -- Martin Herman Wienk, 80, of Pecatonica died Friday, June 18, 2004, in Fort Atkinson Hospital in Fort Atkinson, Wis. Born Nov. 23, 1923, in Rockford. Son of Frank and Florence (Last) Wienk. He farmed for many years in Pecatonica before working as a farm laborer for Green Giant. He was a great father and loved his family very much. Survivors include his 11 children, Richard Wienk, Katherine VonHaden, Lawana (Gene) Franseen, Dennis Wienk, Kenneth (Nancy) Wienk, Bruce Wienk, Jonathan (Sue) Wienk, Rebecca (Paul) Pierce, Cheryl (George) Greenlee, Barbara (Mike) Carlson and Justin (Mary) Brady; many grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
