     Mary E. Pratt was born in 1853 at New Jersey; Mary's marriage to James Arment list her berth place as Port Colou?, N. J.1,5 She was the daughter of Uriah Pratt and Anne Jane Laurison.3,4 Mary E. Pratt was listed in the census of her parents, Uriah Pratt and Anne Jane Laurison, on 19 July 1860 at Walker Township, Kent County, Michigan.1 Mary was also listed in the census of her parents on 24 August 1870 at Walker Township.6 Mary married Edward Mortimer Vinson, son of Joseph Vinson and Mariah "Maria" Woodcock, on 27 October 1870 at Kent County, Michigan. Their marriege was witnessed by Mary B. Graves and Mary's brother John L. Pratt.7 Mary and Edward were divorced on 9 June 1875 at Wexford County, Michigan.7 Mary then married James E. Arment, son of George Arment, on 16 November 1883 at Grand Rapids.8,5 James and Mary Arment appeared on the census of 20 June 1900 in Walker Township.8 Mary E. Pratt filed a Civil War Widows Pension Applicaton; App. No: 910416; Certificate No: 680128 on 23 December 1908.9 She was recorded in census of Jennie May Vinson and Phillip Jablonski on 22 April 1910 at Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan.10 Mary was mentioned in a newspaper article concerning the death and funeral (which was held at her home) of her brother John L Pratt on 8 August 1912; An interesting note taken from the Grand Rapids Press: "Due to an undertaker's mistake in transcribing a notice it was announced yesterday that Uriah Pratt instead of Jonn L P Pratt died Tuesday. Uriah, who was the father of John L. Pratt, has been dead Many Years. The Body of John Pratt will be taken from the residence of his sister, Mrs. Mary Arment, 110 Lexintpm avenue, tommarow noon and the funeral services will be held at the Arment home in Walker township Friday at 2 o'cloc"k.11 Mary E.      Mary Ruth Pratt was born on 6 October 1853 at Holbeach, Lincolnshire, England.4,5 She was the daughter of William Pratt and Emma Pepper.1,3 She also appeared on the census of her parents of on 1 November 1860 at Galen, Wayne County.6 She was recorded with her widowed mother during the census of on 28 July 1870 at Galen, Wayne County.7 Having moved to Kent County, Michigan, Mary Ruth Pratt married Louis/Lewis C. Davidson, son of William C Davidson and Diantha Jarvis, on 13 January 1872 at Walker Township.8,9,10 He marriage to Lewis was acknowledged in her mother Emma Pepper Pratt's deed of inheritance to her living children made on 20 April 1880 at Kent County, Michigan.11 Mary and Lewis Davidson appeared on the census of 8 June 1880 at Dayton Street, Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan.12 After the death of Louis C. Davidson, Mary Ruth Pratt married Melzar B. Barrett, son of Martin J Barrett and Cassandra Morgan, on 25 October 1898 at Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan; William Pratt and Emma Pepper are listed as the brides parents. Since Mary is listed with Lewis Davidson and Melzar is living with his own children on the 1900 U.S. Census in Kent County, the its duration is a mystery?13 They also appeared on the census of 5 June 1900 in Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan; Since Lewis is presumably dead by 1900, it proves that dead people can also appear on the U.S. census.14 Mary Ruth Pratt married Chas H.      Lidia "Lilly" Miller was also known as Lidia Miller.5 She was born circa 1854 at Virginia.3 She was the daughter of Henry Brent Miller and Sarah Catherine Wood.3,4 Lidia "Lilly" Miller married John Edward Armstrong, son of John Spilman Armstrong and Sarah Jane Settle, in October 1877 at Culpeper County, Virginia.1 Lidia "Lilly" Miller witnessed the census of John Spilman Armstrong and Sarah Jane Settle on 5 June 1880 at Jeffersonton, Culpeper County, Virginia.6 Lidia "Lilly" Miller and John Edward Armstrong appeared on the census of 31 July 1900 in Jefferson, Culpeper County, Virginia.7 John and Lilly appeared on the census of 15 April 1910 in Jefferson District, Culpeper County.8 John and Lilly also appeared on the census of 6 January 1920 in Jefferson, Culpeper County, Virginia.9 John and Lilly are both recorded on the census of 15 April 1930 in Jefferson, Culpeper County, Virginia.10

     Melzar B. Barrett was born circa 1854 at New York.1 He was the son of Martin J Barrett and Cassandra Morgan.2 Melzar B. Barrett married Ida A. Kronenberger on 15 July 1891 at Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan.3 Melzar B. Barrett married Mary Ruth Pratt, daughter of William Pratt and Emma Pepper, on 25 October 1898 at Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan; William Pratt and Emma Pepper are listed as the brides parents. Since Mary is listed with Lewis Davidson and Melzar is living with his own children on the 1900 U.S. Census in Kent County, the its duration is a mystery?1 Melzar B. Barrett appeared on the census of 12 June 1900 in Ward 12, Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan.4 He appeared on the census of 25 April 1910 in Ward 4, Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan.5 He died circa 1920 at Michigan; From Melzer's obituary: Melzer - Benjamin Barrett, 66, died Friday evening at his home, 1560 Forest ave., NE., Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Clara B.
