Ober, administrator of the estate of Elizabeth Luse (formally Elizabeth Ober), deceased recorded a full account of the final account and settlement and filed a petition for the final distribution of the estate.¹¹

     Jarusha Jane Steele was also known as Jane Steele. She appears to have been included in the census of her parents, Reuben Steele and Elizabeth "Betsey" Newberry, in 1830 at Wythe County, Virginia; Free Whit Persons - Males: U5(1),30-39(1); Females: U5(2), 20-29(1). One of the daughters under 5 unknowen.² Jarusha Jane Steele was born Before the in 1830 census at Wythel County, Virginia. Her birth as also been reported as Russell County, Virginia.^1,3 She was the daughter of Reuben Steele and Elizabeth "Betsey" Newberry.¹ She was certainly listed in the census of her parents on 19 September 1850 at Western District, Scott County, Virginia.⁴ On 11 July 1851 she married Solomon R Osborne, son of Rev George Jackson Osborne and Mary "Polly" Robinette, at Virginia.⁵ Jarusha and Solomon R Osborne appeared on the census of 8 August 1860 in Jansville, Lee County, Virginia.⁶ They also appeared on the census of 26 June 1870 in Jonesville, Lee County.³ Jarusha Jane Steele appeared on the census of 26 June 1880 in Jonesville, Lee County, Virginia; This census included her adoped daughter, Ellen Johnson.⁷

     Narcissa Pallette was born in 1830 at Tennessee.¹ She was the daughter of Thomas Armstrong Pallette and Sarah Moore.¹ Narcissa Pallette married Aaron Botts before 22 June 1851.² Narcissa Pallette died on 4 July 1893 at Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri.²

     Richard Cantrell was born in 1830 at Illinois.³ He was the son of Larkin Cantrell and Eunice Moberly.² Richard Cantrell was included in the census of Larkin Cantrell on 11 September 1850 at Franklin County, Illinois; Larkin lists himself as blind.⁴ Richard was also included in the census of his father on 19 June 1860 at Benton Post Office, Franklin County, Illinois.⁵ Richard Cantrell married Nancy C Townes, daughter of Robert T.      Carl Wilhelm Albrecht was born on 22 June 1830 at West Prussia.⁴ He was the son of August Frederick Albrecht and Elizabeth Marie Novak.³ Carl Albrecht married Louise Augusta Justine Jeanette Gomoll, daughter of Martin Gomoll and Anna Luise Bethke, on 4 October 1863 at Krojence Parish, Flatow, Krojence, West Prussia.⁵ Carl immigrated before 1878 to Indiana.⁶ As of circa 1885, the address of Carl Wilhelm Albrecht was 1843 String Street, La Porte, Indiana.³ On 16 October 1888 Carl Wilhelm Albrecht A Voter Registration indiactes the Carl submitted Naturalization Papers Sep 15 1880, in the Circut Court of Cook County. The question is, why did Carl file naturalization papers in Cook County, when they did not leave Indiana until about 1887?⁷ As of circa 1890, the address of Carl Wilhelm Albrecht was 4723 Justine Street, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.³ He died on 3 March 1898 at Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, at age 67.^4,8 He According to family lore Carl Wilhelm Albrecht was the only child of August Frederick Albrecht and Elizabeth Marie Novak. Elizabeth had two sisters, Pauline and Elsie. Elsie was supposed to have married a Studebaker and they had a daughter, Annie, who married Henry (Heinrich) D(i)esing who's direct descendent was one Frank Desing who lived in Chicago and Worth Illinois. Her sister Pauline had married a John Munsing and had a daughter, Pauline, and she married an Unknown Eilers. Their son was a "Judge Eilers" in either Chicago or Fort Wayne? Frank D(i)esing of Worth, Cook County, Illinois tentative tree is included in this data set under Frank Diesing. A connection to a "Judge Eilers" has not been found.
At any rate, Carl a Prussian Army Officer (Artillery), had a good crop of bright red hair. According to Freida Herr, he was paid to take another man's place in the Prussian Army. Little is known of his military life. Family legend has it that he got into trouble (supposedly somewhere in France) for disobeying orders and was slated for court-martial. For whatever reason, he diserted the Prussian Army and came to the Unites States around 1878. Norman Pratt, his grandson, remembered that his father (William Pratt) told him that before he, William, had married "Mollie" Albrecht, he had asked Carl about his military experience and about war. One of the things the old man told him was "until you had spent 36 hours on horseback, with dysentery, unable to dismount to empty your pants of your own waste, you could never really understand war".
As the story goes, Carl settled in the Fort Wayne area and worked as a cabinet maker for a Railroad Car company. For what ever reason, he did not tell his family where he was. One day, a relative of his wife, Augusta Gomoll, ran into him the street in Fort Wayne. The relative sent a letter telling the family where he was and Aguste then sent her older son, August, to find Carl. August and Carl then worked to get enough money to bring the rest of the family to the United States and they then fallowed in 1880. On a sad note, one of their daughters died on the trip to the States (perhaps of starvation).
As grandson Norman Pratt told it, because of his Artillery training, Carl had enough surveying experience to land a job surveying Chicago's water front from a row boat. It would be nice to know if that were true!²

     Sarah Jane McKinny was born on 9 July 1830 at Tennessee.^1,2 She married Jacob Jervis Borah, son of Machael Borah and Sarah D. Harelson, on 9 November 1848 at Lancaster County, Wisconsin.^1,2 Sarah Jane McKinny and Jacob Jervis Borah appeared on the census of 29 June 1860 in Fennimore, Grant County, Wisconsin.¹ Jacob and Sarah Borah appeared on the census of 5 July 1870 in Empire, Stanislaus County, California.³ James and Sarah returned east where they appeared on the census of 5 July 1880 in James, Pottawattamie County, Iowa.⁴ Sarah Jane McKinny died on 16 January 1989 at Hancock County, Iowa, at age 158.²

     Emilie "Amelia" Blese was born on 19 August 1830 at Popowo, Posen, Prussia.¹ She was the daughter of Johann Blese and Beate Luise Drewitz.¹ Emilie "Amelia" Blese married Johann Wilhelm Paschke on 11 February 1855 at Wronke, Posen, Prussia.³ Amelia was included on the passenger list of Johann Blese and Beate Luise Drewitz on 18 January 1860 at New York, New York; They arrivied on the Ship "Hammonia" out of Southampton, England. This is the correct family if Alwine and Albertine are the same person. All (of the family) ages are a close match.⁴ Amelia and Johann Wilhelm Paschke appeared on the census of 20 August 1870 in Watertown, Jefferson County, Wisconsin.⁵ They appeared on the census of 21 June 1880 in Sun Prairie, Dane County, Wisconsin.² They last together as appeared as William and Emily Paskey on the census of 5 June 1900 in Sun Prairie, Dane County, Wisconsin.⁶ Emilie "Amelia" Blese died on 14 March 1902 at Sun Prairie, Dane County, Wisconsin, at age 71.¹

     Eliza Jane Reynolds was born on 23 September 1830 at Wisconsin.^1,2 She was the daughter of James Reynolds and Martha Rosanna Ramsey.¹ Eliza Jane Reynolds married John Ricks Peterman, son of Peter Jacob Peterman and Mageleana Spargo, on 30 November 1845 at Grant County, Wisconsin.^3,4 Eliza Jane Reynolds and John Ricks Peterman appeared on the census of 25 June 1860 at the La Grange P.O., Empire Township, Stanislaus County, California.⁵ They appeared on the census of 23 June 1880 in Tulare, San Joaquin County, California.⁶ Eliza Jane Reynolds appeared on the census of 26 June 1900 in Castoria, San Joaquin County, California; This census indicates that she was born in Kentucky?⁷ A widowed Eliza was included in the census of her daughter, Melissa Alice Peterman Finch, on 19 April 1910 at Tulare, San Joaquin County, California.⁸ Eliza died on 15 January 1914 at San Joaquin County, California, at age 83; She was buried in the East Union Cemetery at Manteca.^1,2

     Catherine McCarrick was born in November 1830 at Ireland.^1,2 She married Thomas Kelley, son of (?) Kelley, before 1 June 1854 at USA.^1,4 Catherine McCarrick and Thomas Kelley appeared on the census of 20 June 1860 in Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin.¹ Catherine McCarrick and Thomas Kelley appeared on the census of 21 June 1880 in Janesville.⁵ Catherine McCarrick and Thomas Kelley appeared on the census of 1 June 1900 in Janesville City.⁴ Catherine died on 10 November 1901 at Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin.²

     Milley "Milda" Jane Frakes was born on 6 November 1830.¹ She was the daughter of John F. Frakes and Elizabeth P. Sams.¹ Milley "Milda" Jane Frakes married John Bee on 27 October 1851 at Putnam County, Indiana.¹ John and Miilda Bee appeared on the census of 12 June 1860 in Monroe, Putnam County, Indiana.² Milley "Milda" Jane Frakes died on 22 October 1872 at Putnam County, Indiana, at age 41.¹

     Robert McCollum was born on 17 November 1830 at Indiana.^1,2 He was the son of James McCollum and Lydia Ann Lewis.¹ Robert McCollum was recorded in the census of James McCollum and Lydia Ann Lewis on 17 August 1850 at Clay and Richland, Clay County, Illinois.¹ Robert McCollum married Mary E.      Rachel Hencel was born on 4 December 1830 at Canada.^1,2 She married William Hutchcroft, son of Edward Hutchcroft and Elizabeth Bayston, circa 1844 at Canada.^1,3 Rachel and William Hutchcroft appeared on the census of 24 June 1860 in Utica, Livingston County, Missouri.¹ Rachel Hencel and William Hutchcroft appeared on the census of 23 June 1880 in Beetown, Grant County, Wisconsin; This census also included a granddaughter, Lena H. Hutchcroft, age 6.⁴ Rachel Hencel and William Hutchcroft This William Hutchcroft was recorded on the US General Index to Pention Files. His wife Rachel was listed as "widow" (20 March 1901). -- A photo Copy of application card for William Hutchcroft, Sr. (App. No. 541473, Cert. No. 433302). Un-named widow (Application: 736947, Cert: 551442) can also be found at Fold3.COM. on 4 June 1885 at Grant County, Wisconsin.^5,6 Rachel Hencel died on 20 October 1907 at Cassville, Grand County, Wisconsin, at age 76.²

     Mary A. Hare was born circa 1831 at Northern Ireland; Her son Joseph listed his mother's birth location as "Northern Ireland" on the 1930 census.^3,4

      Mary A. Hare was recorded in the census of Benjamin L. Blanchard and Catharine Brown on 4 September 1850 at Huron, Wayne County, New York. She is 22 years of age and as having been born in Ireland; Because of the fallowing: 1) Joseph, Mary and William were living with Benjamin and Catherine Blanchard in 1850; 2) Both Catherine and Joseph were born in England; 3) Their ages are certainly close enough to be brother and sister. It is possible that Catherine Blanchard and Joseph brown were brother and sister. If not Brother and Sister they may be related in some way! For that reason, Catherine Blanchard is inclued as Catherine Brown in this text.⁶
     Joseph and Mary Brown appeared on the census of 8 June 1860 in Georgetown, Ottawa County, Michigan.³ They also appeared on the census of 22 June 1870 in Georgetown.⁷ On 5 June 1880 Joseph and Mary last appeared on Ottawa County records on the census in Georgetwon.⁸ Mary A. On Jun 9, 1902 in Gr. Rapids by Chas. A. Watt, J. of Peace. Whit: Morton Rusler of G. Rapids, Sarah L. Stokes of G. Rapids. Co. Clerk Connor H. Smith Deputy Clerk R. A. Mosher, Bk. 13. p. 141. On the 1860 census, Mary lists her origin as Canada.¹

     Sarah Henrietta Ringgold was born circa 1831 at Maryland.² She was the daughter of Josias Ringgold and Ann Eliza Cruikshanks.¹ Sarah Henrietta Ringgold married (?) Blackestone after July 1850 at Maryland.³ Sarah was included in the census of her parents, Josias Ringgold and Ann Eliza Cruikshanks, on 30 July 1850 at District 2, Kent County, Maryland.² SHe was also included in the census of her parents on 3 July 1860 at Chestertown P.O., Kent County, Michigan; This census included Mary Brown, age 13.³ Henrietta and her children were also included in the census of her parents on 22 July 1870 at Chestertown P.O., Kent County, Maryland.⁴ Sarah Henrietta Ringgold married (?) Smyth after 22 July 1870 at Maryland.⁵ Sarah was living with her wodowed father Josias Ringgold for the census on 18 June 1880 at Charlestown, Kent County, Maryland.⁵

     Adelia (?) was born circa 1821 at Ohio.³ She was born circa 1831 at Ohio.¹ She married Darius C. Dickenson circa 1844.³ Adelia (?) married J.T. Walker before 1870.¹ Adelia (?) appeared on the census of 1880 in Big Pine, Inyo County, California.⁴

     Martha Jane Dew was born circa 1831 at Tennessee.¹ She was the daughter of Wallace Dew and Jane (?)² Martha Jane Dew married Clark Harrington, son of Sylvanus Harrington and Jane Anderson, on 4 March 1852 at Mason County, Illinois.¹ Martha Jane Dew died circa 1853 at Mason County, Illinois; Burial: Mount Zion, Kilbourne, Mason County, Illinois.¹

     George Coon was born circa 1831 at Ohio.^2,3 He married Mary Anne Gaskill on 29 July 1853 at Allen County, Ohio.^1,4 George Coon appeared on the census of 10 August 1860 in Amanda, Allen County, Ohio; This census included a male Coon, age 5 and a female Gaskill, age 7.³ He appeared on the census of 14 July 1870 in Gaines, Kent County, Michigan.²

(?) circa 1856 at Maine.¹ Andrew and Eliz Dewilly appeared on the census of 18 June 1860 in Crawford, Washington County, Maine.¹ Andrew Jackson Dwelley recorded in the Civil War Draft Records on 25 June 1863.⁴ Andrew and Eliza appeared next door to Andrew's brother, Benjamin, on the census of 2 June 1870 in Crawford, Washington County, Maine.⁵ Andrew and Eliza also appeared on the census of 7 June 1880 in Crawford, Washington County, Maine.⁶ He and Eliza A. (?) appeared on the census of 19 June 1900 in Crawford, Washington County, Maine; This census included Willie (16) and Peasley(15) Woodruf, nephew's.⁷

     Augustus Ott was born circa 1831 at Prussia.¹ He married Anna (?) before 1857 at Prussia.¹ Augusta and Anna Ott appeared on the census of 2 June 1870 in St Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota.² August and Anna Ott appeared on the census of 17 June 1880 in Lake County, South Dakota.¹

     Mary (?) married John M Cotton.² Mary (?) was born circa 1831 at Tennessee.¹ She was included in the census of Surilda Jane Cotton and Daniel Watkins Cantrell on 20 April 1910 at Civil District 14, Warren County, Tennessee.¹

     Maria Goodale was born circa 1831 at Walsoken, Norfolk, England.¹ Maria married Frederick Butt, son of William Butt and Sarah Kirk, during the second quarter in 1858 at Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, England.^1,3 Maria Goodale and Frederick Butt appeared on the census of 2 April 1871 in Guyhirn, Cambridgeshire, England.⁴ Maria Goodale and Frederick Butt appeared on the census of 3 April 1881 in Guyhirn, Cambridgeshire, England.¹

     Elizabeth Slaughter was born circa 1831 at Kentucky.² She was the daughter of Cadwallader Slaughter and Frances Ann Vance.¹ Elizabeth Slaughter married Squire Bassett (of Lexington, Ky), son of Isaac Bassett and Sarah Hunter Disher, circa 1853 at Kentucky.¹ Elizabeth and Squire Bassett appeared on the census of 9 July 1860 in Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky.² They appeared on the census of 22 August 1870 in Lexington, Kentucky.³ Elizabeth and Squire also appeared on the census of 7 June 1880 in Lexington.⁴ Elizabeth died on 26 December 1880 at Fayette County, Kentucky.⁵

     Elizabeth Steele was born circa 1831 at Virginia.¹ She was the daughter of Crockett Steele and Mary "Polly" Bogle.¹ Elizabeth was included in the census of her father Crockett Steele on 12 August 1850 at 68th District, Wythe County, Virginia.² Elizabeth Steele married George W. K. Green, son of John Green and Ann (?), on 3 November 1858 at Wythe County, Virginia.³ Elizabeth Steele and George W. K. Green appeared on the census of 12 July 1870 in Seddon, Bland County, Virginia.⁴ Elizabeth Steele and George W. K. Green appeared on the census of 3 June 1880 in Seddon, Bland County, Virginia.⁵

     Margaret (?) was born circa 1831 at Virginia.¹ She married Leroy Lyons circa 1847 at Virginia.¹ Margaret (?) and Leroy Lyons appeared on the census of 14 September 1860 in Estillville P.O., Scott County, Virginia.¹ Margaret (?) and Leroy Lyons appeared on the census of 15 September 1870 in Taylor, Scott County.²

     John F. Curtis was born circa 1831 at Virginia.³ He was the son of (?) Curtis and Susan (?)² John F. Curtis married Hepzibah Elizabeth Walker, daughter of John T(S) Walker and Mary Catherine Hord, on 17 February 1853 at Culpeper County, Virginia.¹ John F. Curtis and Hepzibah Elizabeth Walker appeared on the census of 8 September 1870 in Stevensburg, Culpeper County, Virginia.³ John F. Curtis married Georgiana Embrey on 25 February 1875 at Fauquier County, Virginia.⁴

     William Brown was born circa 1831 at Scotland.¹ He married Elizabeth Trackler on 29 December 1853 at Hancock County, Ohio.^1,2 William and Elizabeth Brown appeared on the census of 17 June 1870 in Delaware, Hancock County, Ohio.¹

     Adaline A Porter was born circa 1831 at Naples, Ontario County, New York.^1,2 She married Abel Libhart circa 1850 at Michigan.² Adaline A Porter and Abel Libhart appeared on the census of 8 June 1860 in Leonidas, St Joseph County, Michigan.² After leaving Michigan Paul and Adaline appeared on the census of 8 June 1880 in Dent, San Joaquin County, California.³ Adaline A Porter died on 5 January 1891 at French Camp, San Joaquin County, California.¹

     Benjamin B Bacon was born circa 1831 at Michigan.² Benjamin married Adelia Libhart, daughter of Abel Libhart and Adaline A Porter, circa 1876.^1,3 Benjamin B Bacon and Adelia Libhart appeared on the census of 11 June 1880 in Dent, San Joaquin County, California.² Benjamin B Bacon died on 3 September 1897 at Five Corners, San Joaquin County, California.¹

     Gottlieb Bernhard Beringer was born circa 1831 at Alcace-Lorraine; The 1880 census lists birth location as Prussia.^4,3 He married Mary Seabold.² Gottlieb Bernhard Beringer and Mary Seabold appeared on the census of 25 July 1860 in Troy City, Rensselaer County, New York.⁵ Gottlieb Bernhard Beringer and Mary Seabold appeared on the census of 14 June 1880 in Elgin, Kane County, Illinois.³ Gottlieb Bernhard Beringer died on 8 March 1888 at St Louis, Missouri.^6,7

Maddox and Elizabeth (?)² Henry (one of two males between 5 and 10) was included in the census of what is probably his father, Richard V. Maddox in 1840 at Franklin County, Illinois.² Henry Maddox married Elizabeth (Eliza) Jane Neal, daughter of Jeremiah Neal, on 8 November 1848 at Franklin County, Illinois.^1,5 Henry Maddox was included in the census of Richard V. Maddox and Elizabeth (?) on 15 October 1850 at Franklin County, Illinois.⁶ Henry Maddox and Elizabeth (Eliza) Jane Neal appeared on the census of 11 November 1850 in Franklin County, Illinois.³ Henry Maddox was granted or patented Full payment for 40 acres "For the Soth West quarter of the South West quarter of the North West quater of Section Nine in Township Seven South of Range Thence East in the Direction lands subject to sale at Shawneetown, Illinois" in Franklin County, Illinois.⁷ He and Elizabeth (Eliza) Jane Neal appeared on the census of 16 June 1860 in Benton, Frakline County, Illinois.⁸ Henry Maddox and Elizabeth (Eliza) Jane Neal appeared on the census of 18 July 1870 in Frankfort, Franklin County, Illinois.¹
