William Pratt was born in 1868 at England.1,3 He was the son of John Wolf(e) Pratt.2 William Pratt The assignment of William as son to John Wolf Pratt is educated guess. That guess is based on the inclusion of Mary and William as grandchildren to Ambrose Pratt during the 1871 Cambridgeshire census. He married Betsey Harrison in 1865 and then he and Betsey Disappeared. How ever, John could also have been the son of Mary Ann Wolfe Pratt who was the mother of Mary Elizabeth out of wedlock. Regardless, he was a grandson of Ambrose Wolfe Pratt, Sr.4 He was listed in the census of Ambrose Wolfe Pratt Sr. and Elizabeth "Betsy" Ablett on 2 April 1871 at Rings End in Guyhirm, Cambridgeshire.5 William Pratt was recorded in the census of Ruth Wolfe Pratt and Richard Forth on 3 April 1881 at Crowland, Lincolnshire, England; By then, Richard was working as an Agricultural Labourer.6 William Pratt married Elizabeth Wilson, daughter of Thomas Wilson and Betsy (Elizabeth) Cole Knighton, in 1888 at Peterborough, Lincolnshire, England.3,7 William Pratt and Elizabeth Wilson appeared on the census of 5 April 1891 in Crowland, Lincolnshire, England.8 William and Elizabeth appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 in South Street, St Guthlac, Crowland, Lincolnshire, England.9 William Pratt and Elizabeth Wilson appeared on the census of 2 April 1911 in The Common Deeping High Bank, Crowland, Lincolnshire, England; This census was Recorded as Crowland, Northamptonshire. Elizabeth and William indecated that they had been married 23 years having born 11 children of whom 7 were still living. The 2 certain deaths were Ambrose and the first Alice. Margaret is missing from this census so she may also have died before this census.10,11
