     Charles "Billy" Wilhelm Farrell served during WWII as a GM1C Seabee recieving a Purple Heart as a result of duty in the South Pacific. He was also a hard rock miner who became a well respected "Powder Monkey" and oversaw many highway blasting projects in the State of California. According to Wikipedia, in this instance Powder Monkey reffers to "The term was later used, and continues to be used in some countries, to signify a skilled technician or engineer who engages in blasting work, such as in the mining or demolition industries".1 He was born on 31 August 1914 at Golconda, Nevada.2 He was the son of Edward Patrick Farrell and Eliza Laura "Gram" Steele. Billy was one of six children listed in the census of Ed and Lyda on 17 January 1920 at Auburn, California.3 He was listed in household during the census of his mother on 11 April 1930 at Auburn, Placer County, California.4 Billy appeared as a single miner on the census of 9 April 1940 in Park City, Summit County, Utah.5 Billy was working for the Anaconda Copper Mining Company when he registered for the draft on 16 October 1940 at Butte, Silver Bow County, Montana. He listed brother-in-law Burwell Reynolds as his next of kin.6 He married Irene Helen Heath, daughter of Elmer Heath and Susie West, before 1942.7 He died on 23 August 1986 at Roseville, Placer County, California, at age 71.2,8

He married Thelma Crone on Sept. 22, 1943 at St. Francis Cathedral in Green Bay. Clifford served his country in World War II from 1940 - 1946 as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy. He was a registered professional engineer in the state of Wisconsin since 1950. In his career he worked at various engineering and management positions in Washington, D.C, Marinette and Wausau. He was actively involved in religious and community affairs in both Marinette and Wausau.      Marion Russell Walker was born on 7 January 1915 at Ventura County, California.2 He was the son of James Russell Walker and Lena Cannon.1 Marion Russell Walker was included in the census of Zion Flanary and Martha Payne on 31 January 1920 at Upper Clom Fork, Kentucky.3 He appears on the census of his parents, James Russell Walker and Lena Cannon, on 3 February 1920 at Ventura, Ventura County, California.4 He was included in the census of perents on 17 April 1930 at Saticoy, California.1 He married Dorothy Eugenia Burke, daughter of Harry Eugene Burke Sr. and Marion Josephine Armstrong, on 26 November 1937 at Palo Alto, California. They were married in the Stanford Univeristy Chapel. Marion Russell Walker and Dorothy Eugenia Burke appeared on the census of 2 April 1940 in Ventura, Ventura County, California.5 Marion Russell Walker died on 28 July 2002 at Ventura, California, at age 87; From an obituary published in the Ventura County Star, Wednesday, July 31, 2002: Marion Russell Walker was born on Jan. 7, 1915, on his grandfather Marion Cannon's ranch on Telephone Road. He went to rest on July 28, 2002.
Marion attended schools in Ventura, and after graduating from Stanford University, returned to Ventura to take over the ranch, growing lemons, walnuts and avocados as well as field crops.
Marion was active in his church as a counselor of youth, church school teacher, choir member, delegate to annual conferences, general conferences, and twice a delegate to World Methodist conferences. He also served as chairman of the board for the Claremont School of Theology.
Active in his community, Marion served as president of both Downtown Lions Club and the Ventura Chamber of Commerce before he was 30 years old. He served on the school board, the Juvenile Justice Commission, Casitas Municipal Water District board, the Ivy Lawn Memorial Park board and was president of the Public Facilities Corp. at the time of the building of the Ventura County Center. He was also on the California State Water Board at the time of the building of the state canal. His hobby was iris growing and breeding and at one time he served as the national president of the American Iris Society.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy; sons Russell (wife Carolyn), Donald (wife Ellen), Philip (wife Katia), and Steven (wife Joan); as well as seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.6,7
He "Uncle Marion" was a gentleman farmer who was raised on the Cannon family ranch in Ventura, California. The large ranch raised Walnuts, Avocado's, Lemons and cut flowers. He was a graduate of Stanford University and was a loyal alumnus. A strong Democrat, he chair of the Ventura County Democratic Party from 1946 to 1950. He was a candidate for the U.S. House of Representative from California's 11th District in 1950 but was defeated. He later was appointed by the Governor of California to serve on the California State Water Commission. He was a strong Methodist and member of the Lions and Freemasons. Marion was also an Iris breeder seving as Presiden of the American Iris Society (AIS) during the 1950's.8
