David Harold "D.H" Cramer The fallowing was taken from Eugene T. Sawyers' History of Santa Clara Coiunty California, published by Historic Record Co. page 1052 David H. Cramer received his education at Bloomdale grammar school, Fostoria high school and Wooster College, all in the state of Ohio. He was graduated from Wooster College in 1906 with the degree Ph. B. and for the next two years he was science teacher at Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, highschool and the following two years he served as principal of the same school. In the spring of 1910 he came to California, and that fall he took a graduate course in the University of California, majoring in mathematics. Then going to Globe, Ariz., he was employed in the offices of the Old Dominion Copper Mining Company for a while, coming to Campbell in the fall of 1912. He became the vice-principal of the Campbell high school and continued in that position for a period of eight years, when he was elected as principal. The Campbell Union high school has had a good growth having now about 170 students and eleven teachers. Professor Cramer's marriage, which took place at Lake Geneva, Wis., united him with Miss Florence Davidson, who was born in Nevada, and reared in Wisconsin, the daughter of Ebenezer and Eleanor (Stevens) Davidson. Mr. and Mrs. Cramer are the parents of two children: Harold D. and Hugh G. Mr. Cramer is a Knights Templar Mason. Politically, he is a stanch Republican, and in religious faith, he and his family are active in the work of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Campbell.4 "D.H." was a long time high school math teacher and principal. He was born on 11 November 1881 at Ohio.2 He was the son of David Cramer and Alice Susan Lescher.2,3 He was recorded in the census of his parents on 4 June 1900 at Washington, Ohio.3 David Harold "D.H" Cramer married Florence D Davidson, daughter of Ebenezer Davidson and Ellen A Stevens, on 23 August 1907 at Bride's Home, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.5 On 12 September 1917 "D.H." Was recorded on a World War I Draft Registration Card, On that card, he indicated that he was a Teacher at Campbell Union High School and listed his Address is listed as Box 57, Campbell. at Santa Clara County, California.6 D.H and Florence appeared on the census of 3 January 1920 in Campbell, California.7 They also appeared on the census of 19 April 1930 in Campbell, Santa Clara County, California.8 David Harold "D.H" Cramer and Florence D Davidson appeared on the census of 22 April 1940 in Campbell, Santa Clara, California.9 Of real note, "D.H." and Florence lived across the street from Dave Pratt's all time favorite doughnut bakery, "Copper Kettle Doughnuts". Campbell Union High Scool, where he taught and where the Pratt Boy's graduated, was less than a full block from the Cramer house. at Campbell, California.1 David Harold "D.H" Cramer and Florence D Davidson appeared on the 1950 U.S. Censusr of 10 April 1950 in Campbell, Santa Clara County, California.10 David Harold "D.H" Cramer died on 22 January 1953 at Santa Clara County, California, at age 71.2
