     Hazel Louise Pratt was born on 26 June 1897 at Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.3 She was the daughter of William Joseph Pratt and Amalie "Mollie" Auguste Albrecht.2,3 Hazel Louise Pratt was included in the census of William Joseph Pratt and Amalie "Mollie" Auguste Albrecht on 13 June 1900 at Chicago; City of Chicago, Thirty-second ward; 43 Precinct.4 She also appeared in the census of her parents William Joseph Pratt and Amalie "Mollie" Auguste Albrecht on 17 April 1910 at Belvidere, Boone County, Illinois.1 Hazel first married Kenneth Eugene Wright, son of Frederick Smith Wright and Katherine Nevius Smith, on 22 September 1917 at Belvidere, Boone County, Illinois; The record posted with the Illinois County Marriages at FamilySearch (1910-1840) indicate that this marriage took place in Winnebago County (Rockford?), Illinois on 17 Aug 1917.3,5 Hazel, a sorter at a Lanudry, and Kenneth Wright appeared on the census of 14 January 1920 in Bloom, Illinois.6 Hazel was listed as a Buyer of a Department Store. when She and Kenneth appeared on the census of 3 April 1930 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.7 She and Kenneth divorced sometime before 1933.8 After her divorce from Kenneth Wright, she married Christian Wilhelm Goeke, son of Frank Richard Goeke and Anna Barbara Stuchring, on 23 April 1941 at Chicago, Illinois.3 Hazel Louise Pratt died on 23 December 1971 at Hazel Crest, Cook County, Illinois, at age 74; Obituary - 28 Dec 1971 - BDR Hazel L. Goeke: Mrs. Hazel L. Goeke, 74, 1705 Charleston Lane, Hazelcrest, died Thursday at 2:30 a.m. at Bowman Nursing Home, Midlothian, following a lengthy illness. - She was born in Chiago on June 26, 1897, the daughter of William J. and Mollie Albrecht Pratt. She graduated from Belvidere High School and taught in rural schools in Boone County. She married Christ W. Golke in 1942. - Mrs. Goeke was employed as an assistant buyer for Marshall Field and Company, Chikcago, for many years and retired in 1942. She was a member of Belvidere American Legion Auxiliary and Belvidere V.F.W. Auxiliary. - Survivors include her husband; one brother, Norman Pratt of Vacaville, Calif; and several nieces and nephews. - Mrs. Goeke was predeceased by two brothers.2,9 She was buried on 26 December 1971 at Belvidere Cemetery, Belvidere, Illinois.10,11 Hazel and Kenneth Wright did not have children.12 Hazel, who was a big woman, worked as the Buyer of large womens clothing for Marshall Field's Deptment Store, Chicago Ill. Marshall Field & Company was a large department store in Chicago which grew and became a chain which was eventualy acquired by Macy's Inc. in 2005.13

     Ira Vette was born on 5 November 1897 at Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.1,2 He was the son of Charles William Vette and Minna Herzberg.2 Ira Vette married Alma Julia Ishmael, daughter of Lorenzo Dow Ishmael and Mary A. (?).1,3,4 Ira Vette was recorded on a World War I Draft Registration Card, on 12 September 1918 at St Louis, Missouri.4 He and Alma Julia Ishmael appeared on the census of 15 April 1930 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.5 Ira Vette began military service on 13 January 1942 at Camp Shelby, Millissippi; He flew as an enlisted pilot until 1945 when he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant. Colonel Vette held staff and command positions in Military Airlift Command, Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Service and Air Training Command.3 He ended military service in 1975 at Patrick Airforce Base, Cocoa Beach, Florida; His career included serving as the Director of Manned Space Flight Support Office. He served on active duty with the U.S. Air Force for 33 years. He was a command pilot with over 8,000 flying hours and was a graduate of the Air Command and Staff College. He served with distinction in WW II, Korea and Vietnam. Among his numerous awards and decorations are the Silver Star, Joint Service Commendation, Distinguished Flying Cross with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, the Air Force Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Exceptional Service Medal. During his tour of duty in Vietnam, he was credited with 101 combat rescue missions as Commander of the 37th Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Squadron.3 A widower, Ira died on 24 December 1975 at Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, at age 78; From his Obituary: He is survived by his daughter, Alana Vette Haldin and her husband John of Charlotte, NC; his brother, James I. Vette of Mount Airy, MD; and many nieces and nephews.6
