Burke child most like their father. She appeared the most expressive and outgoing of the clan with many of the mannerisms of her Dad. During WWII, The senior Burkes, Aunt Claire, her two oldest girls and the Pratt's shared the Mozart Ave. residence for several years and from nephew David childhood memories, he believes that a good time was had by all (the Kid's at least). Whatever happened to the extended families of old? Aunt Claire's Tamale pie was a staple at most of the very many family pot lucks. Her recipe was as fallow's: Tamale Pie: Line bottom and sides of casserole with thick yellow cornmeal mush. Fill with Tamale Mixture and cover top with cornmeal mush. Bake from one to two hours at 325 degrees. (Tamale Mixture: Fry one or two chopped onions in oil, add lean ground beef (2 lbs or more depending on how many to eat), Flavor meat with salt, pepper, and chili powder; add tomato sauce (about 1 can for every pound of meat); add can of olives). She was also the one who took charge of collecting and documenting her mother's life encouraging mother Marion to record her memories. Much of the narration dealing with Marion Armstrong Burke was borrowed from her work.^8,9

     Lillian Martha Kelley was born circa 1912.^1,2 She was the daughter of William H Kelley and Viola Haddie Steele.¹ Lillian Martha Kelley married (?) Moore before 1933; Record of this marriage was not found, how ever, William Moore, age 7, was listed as a step son on the 1940 census. Logically, William would be Lillian's son by a previous marriage or he may have been adopted. Need futher proof.³ Lillian Martha Kelley married John Adell Durham, son of Charles Durham and Martha Hood, on 16 January 1936 at Wise County, Virginia.¹ Lillian Martha Kelley and John Adell Durham appeared on the census of 10 May 1940 in Richmond Distristic 9, Wise County, Virginia.³ Lillian Martha Kelley died in 1999 at Virginia.²

     Chester H Walters was born circa 1912 at Illinois.¹ He was the son of Travis Stephen Walters and Cora May McCue.¹ Chester H Walters was included during the census of his parents, Travis Stephen Walters, on 23 January 1920 at Randolph, McLean County, Illinois.¹ Working as a clerk in a general store, Chester H Walters was included during the census of his parents, Travis Stephen Walters and Cora May McCue, on 12 April 1930 at Bloomington, McLean County, Illinois.² Chester H Walters married Ruth Agnes Salch, daughter of Henry Salch and Anna Isabelle Nowatski, circa 1931 at Illinois.³ Chester H Walters and Ruth Agnes Salch appeared on the census of 2 April 1940 in Cuyahoga Falls, Summit County, Ohio.³ Chester H Walters died on 10 June 1984 at Akron, Summit County, Ohio.⁴

     Thelma Irene Bays was born in 1912.¹ She was the daughter of Robert Logan Bays and Willia Susan Flanery.¹ Thelma Irene Bays was included during the census of her parents, Robert Logan Bays and Willia Susan Flanery, on 3 January 1920 at Martinsburg, Elliott County, Kentucky.² Thelma Irene Bays was included during the census of her parents, Robert Logan Bays and Willia Susan Flanery, on 9 May 1930 at Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio.³ Thelma Irene Bays married Hugh Leo Noel, son of Henry Hugh Noel and Ethel Grace Gable, on 2 September 1939 at Scioto County, Ohio.^1,4 Thelma Irene Bays died on 27 January 1997 at Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio; From an obituary posted at Find-A-Grave: "Born Oct. 11, 1912, in Sandy Hook, Ky., a daughter of the late Robert L and Willa Sue Flannery Bays, she was a member of Second Presbyterian Church.

FLANNERY, 78, of Flatwoods, husband of Mary M. Chinn Flannery, died Saturday at King's Daughters' Medical Center. He was a supervisor of the coating department with ARMCO Inc.      Irene Hazel Pratt was born on 25 January 1912 at Michigan.^1,2 She was the daughter of Melvin Elroy "Jack" Pratt and Crystal/Christen/Chrise Hazel Slager.¹ Irene was listed during the census of her parents, Jack and Crystel Pratt, on 3 May 1920 at School District 9, Rosebud County, Montana.¹ She married Archie Olive Brooks, son of Fabien A. Brooks and Cicile Rose Skinner, circa 1928.^2,3 She was included in the census of divorced father "Jack" Pratt on 9 April 1930 at Lewiston, Nez Perce County, Idaho; On the 1930 U.S. Census, Melvins "Jack'" Pratt's marital status was listed as D(ivorced)? He listed his father (Uriah) as from England and mother (Arminda) from Ohio.⁴ Archie and Irene appeared on the census of 30 April 1930 in Washington, Yolo County, California.⁵ They appeared on the census of 14 April 1940 in Monterey, Monterey County, California.⁶ Irene died on 11 December 1995 at Madera, California, at age 83.²

C..² Floyd Maffitt Armstrong and Alice Temple Birchett appeared on the census of 4 April 1940 in Richmond City, Virginia.³ Floyd Maffitt Armstrong died on 18 December 1959 at Cleveland, Ohio, at age 47.²
